About Prof. Anthony Warrens

Professor Anthony Warrens is a renowned consultant renal physician at the Royal London Hospital, where he specialises in all areas of renal medicine and hypertension. Additionally, he serves as the Dean for Education and Director of the Institute of Health Sciences Education (IHSE) at Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry (Barts).
Professor Warrens obtained his medical degree from Glasgow University, followed by clinical training at Oxford University Medical School and various hospitals in London. He went on to earn his PhD from the Hammersmith Hospital in London and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School. After returning to the UK, he assumed the role of consultant renal physician and senior lecturer at Hammersmith Hospital. In 2008, he was appointed Professor of Renal and Transplantation Medicine at Imperial.
Professor Warrens is a leading expert in immunological disease and renal transplantation. He is recognised as President of the British Transplantation Society and holds memberships with the Department of Health's Advisory Committee on Safety in Blood, Tissues and Organs, and the UK Donation Ethics Committee.
Professor Warrens is deeply committed to research and has a particular interest in studying attitudes towards organ transplantation and mechanisms of organ rejection. He has extensively published his findings on these topics.
With a career spanning several decades, Professor Warrens continues to contribute significantly to the field of renal medicine and transplantation, making him a highly respected figure in the medical community.
