    Dr Alexander Lyon is a highly esteemed consultant cardiologist and senior lecturer at Royal Brompton Hospital, appointed in 2012. He specialises in heart failure, cardio-oncology, and Takotsubo syndrome. Dr Lyon's clinical expertise extends to chemotherapy-induced heart failure, cardiac gene therapy, and novel molecular and biological therapies for heart failure. He runs a specialist clinic for patients with Takotsubo syndrome, focusing on risk prediction and management of refractory symptoms.

    Dr Lyon serves as the clinical lead for the cardio-oncology service at Royal Brompton Hospital since 2011 and chairs the UK Cardio-Oncology Consortium from 2012. He is also a member of the Heart Failure Association Translational Research Committee of the European Society of Cardiology since 2012. His interests include the impact of cancer treatments on cardiovascular health and the development of innovative therapies for heart failure.

    Dr Lyon treats a range of conditions including hypertension, heart valve disease, coronary artery disease, cardiomyopathy, and chest pain. He also provides general cardiac health checks to guide risk factor management. His dedication to advancing cardiology is evident through his numerous awards, including the Bernard and Joan Marshall Young Investigator Prize from the British Society for Cardiovascular Research in 2010.
