Dr Adam Rosenthal is a consultant gynaecologist and colposcopist based in London, UK. With over 20 years of specialisation in gynaecological cancer screening, he is one of the UK's most experienced experts in this field. Dr Rosenthal qualified in 1992 from St. Mary’s Hospital Medical School in London and subsequently trained in general obstetrics and gynaecology at several prestigious teaching hospitals, including St. Mary’s, Queen Charlotte’s, the Hammersmith, and Chelsea and Westminster.
In addition to completing the RCOG specialist training programme, Dr Rosenthal holds a PhD in the molecular biology of vulval cancer from St. Bartholomew's Hospital. He also has RCOG subspecialty accreditation in gynaecological oncology and minimal access surgery from University College Hospital (UCH).
Currently, Dr Rosenthal serves as a consultant gynaecologist at UCH, where he leads the Colposcopy and Familial Gynaecological Cancer service. He performs the majority of the hospital's risk-reducing gynaecological cancer and colposcopic surgeries.
Dr Rosenthal is the clinical lead of the UK Familial Ovarian Cancer Screening Study (UKFOCSS), the world's largest study of screening for women at high risk of ovarian cancer. His extensive research and clinical interests have led to frequent invitations to lecture at national and international conferences. He is also an associate professor at University College London (UCL) and serves as a medical advisor to the Eve Appeal and all three of the UK's ovarian cancer charities. His expertise has been featured on Sky News, Channel 4, and BBC radio.
Dr Rosenthal's areas of expertise include gynaecological oncology, colposcopy, and minimal access surgery. His clinical interests focus on the prevention and early detection of gynaecological cancers, particularly in women with a familial risk. He has been a consultant at UCH since his appointment in 2003.
