Prof. Michelle Lockley is a Consultant Medical Oncologist specialising in ovarian cancer and ovarian germ cell tumours. Her NHS practice is based at University College London Hospital. Prof. Lockley completed her undergraduate training at University College London and obtained her PhD from Queen Mary University of London. She leads a research group at Barts Cancer Institute, discovering new ways to treat ovarian cancer and strategies to overcome treatment resistance.

She has received several personal fellowships from the Medical Research Council (MRC) and Cancer Research UK to support her research. In addition to her laboratory-based research programme, Prof. Lockley also contributes to various clinical trials. She has a special interest in treating ovarian germ cell tumours and is Vice-Chair of the Malignant Germ Cell International Consortium (MaGIC).

Prof. Lockley has been practising since 1997 and was appointed as a consultant in 2009. Her roles include leading clinical trials and mentoring junior doctors. She is passionate about improving patient outcomes and advancing the field of oncology through innovative research. Her areas of expertise include chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and immunotherapy for ovarian cancer.
