Frequently asked questions
What are the common symptoms that your patients tend to present with?
My practice can be divided into two aspects: adult and paediatrics. On the adult side, the most common symptoms I see are hearing issues, wax, ear infections, tinnitus, vertigos. With respect to the nose, the most common conditions people come to see me are allergies, rhinitis, sinusitis. When it comes to the throat, it's generally recurrent tonsillitis type issues and people also come to us with the neck swellings and lumps and bumps. On the paediatric side, the most common conditions I see are hearing loss, repeat ear infections, sleep disordered breathing, recurrent tonsillitis and neck lumps.
What are the treatments that you're able to offer your patients?
On the paediatric side, the most common surgical procedure that I do is tonsillectomies, adenotonsillectomy, grommets insertion and excision of some neck lumps in older children, myringoplasty, mastoid operations, among other procedures. On the adult side, the most common procedures on the adult side are tonsillectomies, septoplasty, endoscopic sinus surgeries on those nose, lumps and bumps excisions in the neck, myringoplasty and mastoidectomy on the ears.
What are your areas of sub-specialist interest?
My sub specialisation is all aspects of paediatric ear, nose and throat. That's following on from my fellowship at Great Ormond Street, which trained me well for this. Particularly, sleep disordered breathing, gluey air, hearing loss, eardrum perforations, mastoid surgeries, neck lumps and bumps, paediatric airway conditions among others.
