After moving to London from Dublin in 1985, he trained at Charing Cross, Central Middlesex and St Mary's Hospitals. He has been working as a Consultant at St Mary's Hospital, now part of Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, since 1992. He also works at St Mary's and the Hammersmith Hospitals.
