Professor Fausto Palazzo is a distinguished consultant in endocrine surgery at Hammersmith Hospital, where he has been serving since 2004. He specialises in thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal surgery, with a particular focus on thyroid cancer, complex and re-operative parathyroid surgery, and adrenal surgery.

Professor Palazzo qualified in 1992 and completed his surgical training on the Cambridge and North East London rotations. He further honed his expertise with two years of thyroid research at St Bartholomew's Hospital, earning a Master of Surgery from the University of London. His specialist training in endocrine surgery took him to Oxford, Sydney, and Marseille.

With over 2700 thyroidectomies, 2400 parathyroidectomies, and 600 adrenalectomies performed by 2022, Professor Palazzo is one of the UK's most experienced endocrine surgeons. He is also a dedicated educator, teaching at Imperial College and to postgraduate students both nationally and internationally.

Professor Palazzo has published more than 150 peer-reviewed papers on various aspects of endocrine disease and surgery. He has authored national guidelines in the UK and overseas and represents UK endocrine surgery internationally. In 2019, he was conferred the title of Professor by Imperial College.
