Dr Rebecca Liu is a Consultant Neurologist at The Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. She also performs private work at The Physicians' Clinic, Devonshire Street, and the Private Patients Unit at the Royal Free Hospital and Hadley Wood. Dr Liu specialises in the management of first seizures, complex refractory epilepsy, blackouts, dissociative seizures, and functional neurological disorders. She has extensive experience in treating a wide range of neurological conditions, including headaches, tremor, dizziness, and memory problems.

Dr Liu obtained a first-class honours BSc degree in psychology from University College London. She completed her medical training at Guys and St Thomas’ Hospital and undertook her postgraduate training at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (NHNN), Queen Square, and the Royal Free Hospital, Hampstead. She further specialised in epilepsy at several renowned establishments, including the Chalfont Centre for Epilepsy and NHNN. In 2004, she was awarded a PhD for her research into the impact of epilepsy on the human brain.

At her NHS practices, Dr Liu runs general neurology, specialist epilepsy clinics, and dissociative seizure clinics. In addition to her consultancy role, she serves as the Neuroscience Audit Lead and Functional Neurological Disorders Lead at the Royal Free Hospital. Dr Liu works closely with primary care and played a key role in setting up a community epilepsy service. She is actively involved in epilepsy research, with her work published in numerous prestigious peer-reviewed journals. Her contributions to the field have earned her the Charles Symonds Prize from the Association of British Neurologists and the Young Investigator Award from the American Epilepsy Society.

Dr Liu offers a range of medical tests and treatments, including video consultations and lumbar punctures. She treats conditions such as dementia, epilepsy, headaches, memory disorders, multiple sclerosis (MS), Parkinson's disease, and seizures. Dr Liu has been a dedicated member of the medical community since her appointment and continues to contribute significantly to the field of neurology.
