Mr Zaid Awad is a London-based Consultant Otolaryngologist, specialising in ear, nose, and throat (ENT) surgery and head and neck oncology. He holds a full-time role as an NHS consultant at Charing Cross Hospital and St Mary's Hospital, while also managing a busy private practice.
Mr Awad completed his specialist surgical training in ENT surgery in London before embarking on a year-long fellowship in Australia, where he trained in advanced head and neck surgery. His training also included visits to several highly esteemed centres in North America and across Europe, further enhancing his skills and broadening his knowledge in both ENT and head and neck surgery.
Mr Awad is an expert in treating a wide range of conditions related to the ear, nose, and throat in both adults and children. He is also a specialist in treating head and neck cancer, with a deep understanding of its impact on the quality of life of his patients.
Throughout his career, Mr Awad has held several important roles, including President of the Association of Otolaryngologists in Training in the UK from 2013 to 2015, and representative of the North Thames Specialty Training Committee from 2012 to 2014. He has also been a dedicated member of the Specialty Advisory Committee in Otolaryngology, the National Selection Committee for Higher Surgical Training, the ENT UK Council, the Joint Committee of Surgical Training simulation work group, and the Intercollegiate Examination Board.
Mr Awad has been widely recognised for his medical excellence and contributions to the field of otolaryngology. He has been awarded 22 prizes, published over 60 research articles, and serves as a peer reviewer for international ENT journals.
