Year qualified: 2000
Place of primary qualification: University of London
Mr William Bartlett is an esteemed Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon based in North and Central London. He specialises in the surgical and non-operative management of hip and knee complaints. Mr Bartlett began his medical career in 1994 at University College London, where he received numerous accolades, including the Myerstein prize for best overall pre-clinical performance.
His initial surgical training at University College Hospital and the St. Bartholomew’s Hospital rotation inspired him to pursue a career in orthopaedics. He received specialist orthopaedic training at The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore, where he also conducted research and completed his subspeciality fellowship. Further training in joint preservation and minimally invasive replacement surgery was undertaken in the USA and Germany.
Mr Bartlett treats a wide range of patients, from young adults to the elderly, including professional athletes and those with more sedentary lifestyles. He has extensive experience treating patients previously denied surgery due to advanced age, obesity, or complex medical conditions. He collaborates closely with physiotherapists, osteopaths, radiologists, sports physicians, and rheumatologists to explore non-surgical treatment options.
His expertise includes minimally invasive and bone-preserving techniques for joint replacement, hip and knee joint replacement, knee arthroscopy, and the management of sports, traumatic, and degenerative hip and knee complaints. Mr Bartlett is committed to providing personalised care and ensuring the best possible outcomes for his patients.
