    Dr Simon Aylwin is a consultant endocrinologist at King’s College Hospital, where he has been serving since 2002. He graduated from Queens' College Cambridge in 1987 and completed his clinical studies at the Royal London Hospital, qualifying in 1990. Dr Aylwin has a broad clinical practice in endocrinology with special interests in pituitary tumours, thyroid disorders, adrenal tumours and cancer, neuroendocrine tumours, inherited endocrine tumour syndromes, and hyponatraemia.

    Dr Aylwin is the Lead Clinician for Endocrinology at King’s College Hospital and leads the pituitary and adrenal multidisciplinary teams. He also manages a well-established private practice at the London Bridge Hospital, mirroring his NHS work. His expertise extends to working alongside bariatric surgeons to manage patients with severe obesity, and he has an academic interest in appetite regulation.

    He has published over 70 research papers in peer-reviewed journals and regularly reviews journal submissions for international publications. Dr Aylwin is on the editorial board for the journal Pituitary and lectures widely both within the UK and abroad. He has contributed to numerous symposia and debates at the British Endocrine Society and other learned societies.

    Dr Aylwin is a member of the US Endocrine Society and the Pituitary Society. He has served as a clinical committee member for the Society for Endocrinology and the UK and Ireland Neuroendocrine Tumours Society (UKINETS). His clinical expertise includes pituitary function tests, measurement of thyroid hormones, and assessment of thyroid nodules.
