    Mr Riaz Asaria is a Consultant Ophthalmologist at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, and he also sees patients privately, including at The Wellington Hospital. He qualified from Southampton University in 1989 and began his specialist ophthalmology training in 1992, focusing on retinal disease. In 1997, he was awarded the June Sutor Research Fellowship at Moorfields Eye Hospital, followed by a Medical Retina Fellowship at the same institution. He further honed his expertise with Fellowships in both surgical and medical retina at Bristol Eye Hospital.

    Mr Asaria's research has included significant work with the wound healing team at the Institute of Ophthalmology and Moorfields. His areas of expertise encompass cataract surgery, macular degeneration treatment, and both medical and surgical retina. He is also proficient in general ophthalmology and eye trauma management.

    In addition to his clinical work, Mr Asaria has a strong interest in education and teaches at the Royal Free. He has been serving in his current roles since his appointment, bringing years of experience and dedication to his patients and students alike.
