Professor Paul Ellis is a Consultant Medical Oncologist based in London, UK. He has a specialist interest in research into novel therapies for breast cancer management. Professor Ellis played a significant role in chairing the UK Department of Health Advisory Committee on the introduction of a key drug into UK clinical practice and co-authored the national guidelines for its use.
After attaining his medical degree from Otago University, New Zealand, Professor Ellis moved to London to complete his fellowship in Medical Oncology and a postgraduate research degree at the Royal Marsden Hospital. It was here that he submitted his MD thesis on the biological predictors of response to primary chemotherapy.
Professor Ellis continues to take an active leadership role within the UK and European clinical trials community. He was the principal investigator and co-chair in the trial management group for the UK National Adjuvant Chemotherapy (TACT) Trial. Additionally, he has been heavily involved in the steering committees of numerous other clinical trials of novel anti-cancer therapies, including recently serving as Co-Principal Investigator on the MARIANNE and KAMILLA trials.
