Dr Jeremiah Healy is a distinguished musculoskeletal (MSK) radiologist based at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London. He qualified in 1986 from Jesus College, Cambridge, and completed his clinical training at St Thomas’ Hospital Medical School in London. Dr Healy further honed his expertise in radiology at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, where he served as a clinical lecturer in MRI.
Dr Healy specialises in imaging sports injuries and has provided his radiology expertise to Premier League Football teams, England Rugby and Cricket teams, and British Athletics. He played a pivotal role in supporting the British Athletics teams at the Beijing Olympics in 2008 and the World Indoor Athletics Championships. Additionally, he was Vice-Chair of the BSSR Radiology Organizing Committee for the London 2012 Olympics.
Dr Healy is actively involved in academia, regularly lecturing at national and international conferences. He has published 85 peer-reviewed papers, contributed 18 book chapters, and edited five books, including Gray's Anatomy. His areas of expertise include musculoskeletal radiology, musculoskeletal intervention, and sports injury imaging and intervention.
In his clinical practice, Dr Healy works closely with sports rehabilitation experts, employing image-guided interventions to complement physiotherapy and surgical treatments. His procedural skills include ultrasound-guided injections into tendons, joints, and soft tissues, dry needling of tendons, barbotage for calcific tendinitis, and hydrodilatations for frozen shoulder. He also performs diagnostic reporting of X-rays, CT, MRI, and diagnostic ultrasound studies.
