Mr Daren Francis is an esteemed consultant surgeon who specialises in laparoscopic, colorectal, and general surgery. He currently holds the position of Lead for Emergency Surgical Services and Colorectal Cancer Services at the Royal Free London Foundation Trust within the NHS. Additionally, he provides private services through HCA Healthcare at The Harley Street Clinic and The Wellington Hospital.
Mr Francis is highly skilled in robotic surgery treatments for rectal cancer and prolapse, as well as minimally invasive laparoscopic procedures. He was appointed as a consultant in 2005 after completing his medical degree and specialist training. In 2013, he was named one of the top 250 doctors in the UK in the Tatler Doctors Guide.
Throughout his career, Mr Francis has been actively involved in medical education, lecturing at all levels. He has published numerous articles in medical journals and is a guest speaker at international conferences. He also provides educational seminars for other healthcare professionals. In addition to his clinical and educational roles, Mr Francis serves as the surgical advisor to the BAFTA-winning BBC soap 'Holby City' and other independent productions.
