Mr Asit Arora is a leading Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), Airway Head & Neck Consultant Surgeon based in London. His key specialist areas of interest include head and neck cancer, minimally invasive head and neck surgery, robotic surgery, thyroid disorders, and sleep apnoea.
Mr Arora obtained his medical degree with honours from the University of Manchester in 1998. Throughout his undergraduate degree, he received numerous awards for academic excellence, including best research student. After graduating, he undertook head and neck fellowship training at three leading centres for robotic head and neck surgery. In 2015, Mr Arora completed a PhD at Imperial College London focused on transoral robotic surgery (TORS). Through his PhD research, Mr Arora achieved six renowned research prizes, launched several pivotal clinical trials, and published 15 research papers.
Through the establishment of the Global Tracheostomy Collaborative, a global partnership of physicians, nurses, therapists, caregivers, and patients working together to optimise tracheostomy care, Mr Arora is widely acknowledged for his commitment to advancing healthcare quality. He is also responsible for creating the first TORS training programme and has pioneered Robotic Head and Neck Surgery in the UK. Mr Arora is heavily involved in medical education, teaching seven postgraduate courses, including the internationally renowned London Head & Neck Dissection course.
Mr Arora is a key opinion leader in TORS and remains at the forefront of research and innovation in the field of head and neck surgery. He has widely published in the field, with over 45 peer-reviewed publications and nine book chapters. He has received 10 awards for his outstanding contributions to research and has presented his work at over 90 national and international conferences.
