About Dr Alison Jones

Dr Alison Jones is a highly experienced consultant medical oncologist. She graduated from Bristol University in 1980. After gaining general medical experience, she chose to specialise in medical oncology and undertook training at the prestigious Royal Marsden Hospital. There, she also obtained a higher degree in biological therapy of cancer for an MD thesis in 1993.
Dr Jones has worked as a consultant in medical oncology at the Royal Free Hospital since 1993. Initially, she treated a wide range of tumours but subsequently specialised in breast cancer. She also holds the position of honorary senior lecturer at University College London. In addition to her NHS work, she has been working privately for many years and now works exclusively in the private sector with HCA Healthcare UK, mainly at their Harley Street location.
She has had an illustrious career in clinical medicine, during which she has been highly active in carrying out clinical trials, educating others, and developing new services and guidelines. For five years, Dr Jones chaired her professional society, The Association of Cancer Physicians, and advised the London Cancer New Drugs Group on introducing new drugs. Additionally, she served as Vice Chair of the Clinical Trials Awards and Advisory Committee (CTAAC) for Cancer Research UK (CRUK) at one point. Currently, she remains a member of esteemed organisations such as the British Breast Group, the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), and the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO).
