Frequently asked questions
What are the common symptoms that your patients tend to present with?
Presentations range from acute ankle sprains and muscle tears to chronic complaints, including plantar heel pain, tendinopathies, stress fractures and joint pathologies.
What are the treatments that you're able to offer your patients?
Podiatrists look at the biomechanics and function of not only the foot and ankle, but also the knee, hip, the lower limb and back. Assessments involve a thorough subjective history, musculoskeletal assessment, functional movement testing and a gait and running analysis. Podiatrists also readily provide advice on load management footwear, progressive exercise, taping and, if indicated, prefabricated or customised orthoses.
What are your areas of sub-specialist interest?
I'm a keen runner myself. I'm particularly interested in running mechanics, strength deficits in runners and chronic running injuries. I enjoy integrated running gait analysis and weight training into my management plan.
