Dr Robert Yates is a Consultant and Honorary Senior Lecturer in Paediatric and Fetal Cardiology at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). He also practices at The Harley Street Clinic Children's Hospital. Dr Yates has been dedicated to the care of children with heart conditions since his appointment as a consultant in 1996.

Dr Yates specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of heart disease from the fetal period through to adulthood. He has a particular interest in diagnosing heart disease before birth and utilising keyhole techniques to treat children's heart problems. His expertise in paediatric cardiology and congenital heart disease ensures that his patients receive the highest standard of care.

Dr Yates completed his undergraduate medical training in South Africa, graduating in Johannesburg. He moved to the UK in 1989, where he undertook basic training in paediatrics. His postgraduate training in paediatric cardiology was completed in London, and he gained his Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) in 1996.

In addition to his roles at GOSH and The Harley Street Clinic, Dr Yates is a frequent visiting consultant to several overseas hospitals. His extensive training and compassionate approach enable him to provide exceptional treatment in paediatric medicine and care.
