About Ms Rebecca Christenson
HCPC number: PH54755
Rebecca is a very experienced physiotherapist working at Pure Sports Medicine, Threadneedle Street in London. She has a special interest in tendons and is a guest lecturer on the lower quadrant physiotherapy MSc at Herts University and is involved in research into the Achilles and Patella tendon.
Through her interest in the lower limb she treats a wide variety of injuries from the pelvis and hip through the knee to the foot. However, as movement and injuries affect the body as a whole she also treats spinal and upper limb complaints. Her clinical sporting interests are running, triathlon, football, rowing, dance and gymnastics. She treats high level athletes but whatever level you are training at and even if you do not participate or enjoy sports she will work towards helping you achieve your individual goals.

Frequently asked questions
What are the common symptoms that your patients tend to present with?
The most common symptom would be pain. Occasionally, patients will also report a lack of flexibility or weakness, but the most common symptom is pain.
What are the treatments that you're able to offer your patients?
The treatments I use are based on the evidence and my experience of what works and relies on continual assessment of how patients are responding. I am driven by my patient's needs and will tailor treatment accordingly. I am frequently looking at how exercise and often strength can help patients but will use adjuncts such as manual therapy, taping and acupuncture to help alleviate symptoms to enable patients to exercise and achieve their goals.
What are your areas of sub-specialist interest?
One of my biggest areas of interest is tendons, particularly in the lower limb. I treat a lot of patients with tendon pain and lecture at the Physiotherapy MSc at Hertfordshire University on this topic. I also enjoy treating lower limb overuse injuries. An overuse injury is something that has built up without a particularly traumatic event and can be complex to dissect and I enjoy the challenge they can present and help the patient through their rehabilitation. I also see a lot of acute injuries and patients recovering from surgery.
