    Prof. Philip MacCarthy is a distinguished Consultant Cardiologist at King's College Hospital, where he has been serving since 2003. He was appointed Clinical Lead for Cardiology in 2007 and held the position of Clinical Director of Cardiovascular Services from 2012 to 2015. In 2014, he was honoured with the title of Professor of Interventional Cardiology by King's College London.

    Prof. MacCarthy specialises in coronary intervention, including angioplasty and stenting, as well as structural heart disease interventions. He leads the patent foramen ovale (PFO) and atrial septal defect (ASD) device closure programmes, along with the trans-catheter valve (TAVI and MitraClip) programmes at King's College Hospital.
