Professor Michael Rudenko is a distinguished Consultant in Allergy and Clinical Immunology, currently serving at London Allergy and Immunology Centre (UKallergy.com), Chiswick Medical Centre and University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH). He has been a pivotal figure in the field since his appointment in 2004. His areas of expertise include allergic rhinitis (hay fever), food allergies, drug allergies, urticaria, angioedema, and hereditary angioedema. He is also proficient in clinical immunology, focusing on conditions such as frequent infections, recurrent cold sores, and shingles.
Professor Rudenko is the Lead Consultant for the UK’s first UCARE and ACARE Centre of Excellence and Reference with international accreditation since 2017, which specialises in urticaria and angioedema. He has a significant research background, having conducted numerous clinical trials in the immunology of herpes viruses and various Phase 2–3 asthma, urticaria and angioedema and allergy trials. His work has led to the development of new treatment schemes for recurrent herpes virus infections and the prevention of CMV and EBV infections, earning him two patents.
In his clinical practice, Professor Rudenko contributed to a number of guidelines from the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology and the British Society for Allergy and Clinical Immunology. He is deeply committed to advancing allergy care and has a keen interest in the role of mobile health technologies in this field. His dedication to patient care and research makes him a leading authority in allergy and clinical immunology.
