    Dr Matthew Foxton is a highly experienced consultant gastroenterologist and hepatologist, specialising in liver disease and associated conditions. He graduated from St George’s Hospital Medical School in 1995 and completed his specialist training in the South East London region, achieving sub-specialty accreditation in hepatology-gastroenterology in 2007. Dr Foxton was awarded an MD from the University of London in 2009 for his thesis on "Hepatitis C recurrence after liver transplantation".

    Dr Foxton was appointed as a Consultant Gastroenterologist at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Woolwich in 2007. In 2010, he took up a post as a consultant hepatologist at both Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and King's College Hospital. His areas of expertise include viral hepatitis, early detection of liver disease, and hepatocellular carcinoma.

    In 2011, Dr Foxton became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians. He is also an active member of the British Society of Gastroenterology, the British Association for the Study of the Liver, and the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease.

    Dr Foxton is proficient in a range of medical tests and treatments, including liver biopsy, non-invasive detection of liver disease, and the management of chronic liver conditions. He treats a variety of conditions such as hepatitis, anaemia, dyspepsia, viral hepatitis, hepatocellular carcinoma, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, and the complications of cirrhosis.
