Dr Kwok Tang is a highly experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist, currently practising at Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals. He qualified from the University of Edinburgh Medical School and underwent extensive postgraduate training in gastroenterology and hepatology at prestigious institutions including Guy's & St Thomas' Hospital and University College Hospital in London. Dr Tang further honed his expertise at the Institute of Liver Studies, King's College Hospital.
In 1998-1999, Dr Tang pursued sub-specialty training in advanced endoscopy, colonoscopy, and ERCP as an Assistant Professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He now offers a comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy/ERCP service. He is also an Educational and Clinical Trainee Supervisor in general gastroenterology and a JAG-accredited endoscopy trainer. Additionally, Dr Tang serves as an examiner for UCL/RFH Final MB and a CMT interviewer at London Deanery.
Dr Tang dedicated a further period to research at the Institute of Hepatology, University College London, from 2000 to 2003, where he completed his MD thesis on the immunopathogenesis of hepatitis and liver disease. His research has been widely presented and published in this field. In 2005, he was appointed as a Consultant Gastroenterologist/Hepatologist at Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust.
Dr Tang's areas of special interest include endoscopy, colonoscopy, ERCP, liver disease, pancreatobiliary disorders, irritable bowel syndrome, colitis, abdominal pain, and bowel cancer screening. He manages a large NHS and private practice focused on these conditions and general gastroenterology.
