Dr James Harrison is a Consultant Cardiologist and Honorary Senior Lecturer at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. He is a leading specialist in general cardiology, with a particular focus on managing heart rhythm disorders and pacing. Dr Harrison serves as the clinical lead for the heart rhythm and pacing service at the Princess Royal University Hospital in Bromley. He also offers private consultations at various clinics in London, including London Bridge Hospital.
Dr Harrison graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2005, completing his clinical training at the University of Oxford. He then pursued specialist training in cardiology in London and was awarded a British Heart Foundation Clinical Research Training Fellowship. Furthering his expertise, he achieved a PhD in cardiac MRI and electrophysiology at St Thomas’ Hospital in London.
In addition to his clinical roles, Dr Harrison is proficient in conducting cardiac MRI and CT studies. He is a recognised expert in pre-operative cardiology and the optimisation of patients for non-cardiac surgery. His contributions to the field of cardiology are well-documented, with multiple peer-reviewed articles and numerous national and international awards for research excellence. Dr Harrison is also a Certified Cardiac Devices Specialist, accredited by the International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners.
