    Professor Eric Jauniaux is an esteemed Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with over 30 years of experience as a consultant. He was appointed Professor in Obstetrics and Fetal Medicine at University College London (UCL) in 2002. Throughout his career, he has received several international awards for his groundbreaking research into fetal and placental physiology, as well as his work on placental-related disorders of pregnancy.

    Professor Jauniaux is an integral part of the research team at the Early Pregnancy Unit at University College London Hospitals (UCLH) and a staff member of the Reproductive Health team at the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Institute for Women’s Health (IfWH) at UCL. He is a prolific author, having contributed to over 420 peer-reviewed original articles and edited or co-edited 13 books, including ""Embryonic Medicine & Therapy"" with Sir Bob Edwards, Nobel Prize in Medicine 2010.

    In 2006, Professor Jauniaux co-founded Medical Aid Films (MAF), a UK-registered charity dedicated to providing multimedia programs for education and training in maternal and child health in developing countries. MAF was honoured with the BAFTA's Gift of the Academy in 2017 and the UK Asian Voice Charity Awards in 2019.

    His main areas of clinical expertise include obstetrics, twin pregnancies, prenatal diagnosis, antenatal care, and the diagnosis and management of placental and umbilical cord anomalies. He is also highly skilled in managing early pregnancy complications, including recurrent miscarriages (early pregnancy loss), and office gynaecology. Additionally, Professor Jauniaux has a specialist interest in ultrasound imaging and materno-fetal medicine.

    Professor Jauniaux’s dedication to advancing medical knowledge and improving patient care has made him a leading figure in his field. His contributions continue to shape the future of obstetrics and gynaecology, both in the UK and internationally.
