Dr Elia Maalouf is a highly qualified general paediatrician and neonatologist, with extensive experience and specialist expertise in brain injury in preterm and term newborns. Based in London, Dr Maalouf serves as a part-time consultant at Homerton University Hospital and the Portland Hospital for Women and Children.

Dr Maalouf's areas of expertise include general paediatric clinics and baby checks, treating excessive crying and feeding problems, gastroesophageal reflux in babies, breathing problems, recurrent fevers, frequent infections in babies, as well as diarrhoea, paediatric constipation, and tiredness.

Dr Maalouf obtained his primary medical qualification from the University of Dundee in Scotland in 1989. He pursued further education and comprehensive specialty training, culminating in a postgraduate Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in 1999. His thesis focused on brain injury in preterm infants. In the same year, he was appointed as a consultant at Homerton University Hospital in London.

Dr Maalouf is dedicated to advancing his field of expertise and is actively involved in research. He has published multiple research papers and serves as the Editor-in-Chief for "Early Human Development," a leading medical research journal. Additionally, he is a core member of the Neonatal Society and The British Association of Perinatal Medicine (BAPM) and a Fellow of The Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH).
