Mr Dirk Strauss is a Consultant Surgeon Oncologist at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust. He also sees patients privately at The Royal Marsden and The Lister Hospital. Both hospitals offer a one-stop diagnostic facility that provides clinical assessment, diagnostic imaging, and needle biopsies in a single visit when possible. Patients are managed by a multidisciplinary specialist team.

Mr Strauss joined the Royal Marsden Sarcoma and Melanoma Unit in 2008. Prior to this, he trained as a general surgeon in South Africa. He also underwent further specialist training in upper GI surgery at St Thomas' Hospital, London, and in Sarcoma and Surgical Oncology at The Royal Marsden Hospital.

Mr Strauss has special interests in surgery for limb, retroperitoneal, and intra-abdominal sarcomas. He actively participates in clinical trials within the UK and Europe and holds a principal investigator role within the Sarcoma unit.

Mr Strauss is a member of several prestigious organisations, including the EORTC Soft Tissue and Bone Sarcoma Group (STBSG), Connective Tissue Oncology Group (CTOS), TransAtlantic Retroperitoneal Sarcoma Working Group, and the British Association Of Surgical Oncology (BASO).
