Dr Alexandrou is a London-based consultant paediatrician and neonatologist with nearly 30 years of experience dedicated to children's health and well-being. He has particular expertise in managing all problems of the newborn and the first years of life. Dr Alexandrou specialises in a wide range of conditions, including jaundice, unsettled babies, feeding and growth problems, gastro-oesophageal reflux, chronic cough and wheeze/asthma, fever/infections, diarrhoea and vomiting, constipation, and skin conditions such as cradle cap, nappy rash, eczema, and urticaria. Additionally, he offers baby checks and developmental assessments, advice on weaning to solids and food diversification, immunisation advice, and prenatal consultations for prospective parents.

Dr Alexandrou serves as a consultant paediatrician and the named doctor for safeguarding children at Moorfields Children's Hospital NHS Trust. In this role, he manages children with complex problems, often collaborating closely with specialist colleagues and teams from other tertiary paediatric centres, such as Great Ormond Street Hospital and the Evelina Children’s Hospital in London.

Dr Alexandrou graduated from Athens University Medical School and completed his entire paediatric specialist training in the UK. He furthered his subspecialty training in neonatal-perinatal medicine at the University of Western Ontario in Canada. He has held academic appointments as a clinical lecturer in child health at St George’s Medical School in London, where he lectured in paediatrics, and as an honorary senior lecturer at the Imperial College School of Medicine. His research on lung development earned him the degree of Doctor of Medicine (MD) from London University.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr Alexandrou now offers remote telephone and video consultations. Most insurance companies have agreed to cover remote consultations with prior authorisation.
