Dr Clive Handler is an esteemed consultant cardiologist at the National Pulmonary Hypertension Unit, Royal Free Hospital, London, and an Honorary Consultant Cardiologist at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital. He also holds the title of Honorary Clinical Dr in the Division of Medicine at UCL. His first NHS consultant role was at Northwick Park and St Mary's Hospitals, and he served as an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Imperial College.

Dr Handler has extensive experience in general adult cardiology, specialising in pulmonary hypertension, unexplained breathlessness, cardiovascular prevention, high blood pressure, heart failure, chest pain, palpitations, and dizzy spells. He is actively involved in clinical research trials and is a member of an international safety and clinical events committee for drug trials.

Educated at Dulwich College, Dr Handler qualified in medicine from Guy's Hospital Medical School, where he also earned an Honours BSc in pharmacology. He trained at prestigious institutions including the Royal Brompton, London Chest, Charing Cross, Guy's, and University College and the Middlesex Hospitals, with additional cardiology training in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He maintains longstanding links with Yale University School of Medicine.

Dr Handler is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, the European Society of Cardiology, and the American College of Cardiology. He is a founder member of the UCL/King's/Queen Mary's faculty for the annual cardiovascular biology conference at the Royal College of Physicians and the Founder and Chairman of the St Paul's School Medical Conference.

He is a prolific author and editor of 13 textbooks and numerous scientific papers. His clinical interests include cardiac catheterisation, coronary angiography, stress echocardiography, and 24-hour ambulatory ECG. He treats conditions such as chest pain, high blood pressure, breathlessness, palpitations, dizzy spells, high cholesterol, and stress management. Dr Handler has been a consultant since 1996.
