    Dr Babu Vadamalayan is a highly experienced paediatric doctor and gastroenterologist, specialising in the care of children from birth to 18 years of age. He is currently practising in the UK and holds significant roles at King’s College Hospital and Evelina Children’s Hospital (Guy’s and St Thomas NHS Trust) in London.

    Dr Vadamalayan qualified with a Bachelor of Medicine in 1996. He completed his fellowship at the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health in 2001 and earned a Diploma in Paediatric Nutrition in 2006. Additionally, he completed a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in Australia in 2006.

    Throughout his career, Dr Vadamalayan has gained extensive experience at various international centres of excellence, including King’s College Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, The Children’s Hospital in Westmead, and Jichi Medical Centre in Japan. He is the lead gastroenterology consultant at King’s College Hospital and Evelina Children’s Hospital.

    Dr Vadamalayan has a special interest in children's gastrointestinal (GI) investigations, such as endoscopy (gastroscopy, balloon enteroscopy, capsule enteroscopy, and colonoscopy), pH studies to diagnose reflux, hydrogen breath tests to diagnose lactose intolerance, food allergy tests, and pancreatic function tests. He is also dedicated to training other paediatric doctors in endoscopy and runs endoscopy courses. Additionally, he serves as the Chair for the endoscopy working group in the British Society of Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (BSPGHAN).

    Dr Vadamalayan is proficient in a wide range of diseases, medical tests, and treatments, including colorectal surgery, colonoscopy, capsule endoscopy, upper GI endoscopy gastroscopy, food allergy tests, pancreatic function tests, and the management of conditions such as vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, constipation, food allergies, poor weight gain, gastro-oesophageal reflux, celiac disease, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, and other gastrointestinal problems.

    Dr Vadamalayan has been serving in his current roles since his return to the UK, bringing his international expertise and dedication to paediatric gastroenterology to the forefront of his practice.
