    Mr Azhar Shaida is a highly experienced consultant Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) Surgeon, treating both adult and paediatric patients. He has been a consultant since 2002, bringing over 19 years of expertise to his role.

    Mr Shaida began his medical journey with a scholarship to Cambridge University in 1984, later transferring to Oxford University in 1987 to complete his clinical training. He qualified in 1990 and subsequently trained in Oxford, London, and Cambridge. He holds the FRCS (General Surgery) and specialised in ENT surgery, obtaining the ENT fellowship and the FRCS-ORL after training on the East Anglia rotation in Cambridge, Norwich, and Ipswich.

    In addition to his medical degree from Oxford and an MA from Cambridge, Mr Shaida has general surgery and ENT fellowships from the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He was awarded an MD degree for his research on metalloproteinases in rhinitis and continues to be active in research, with numerous publications in his field. He regularly lectures and presents at national and international meetings and serves as an assistant editor of the Journal of Laryngology and Otology.

    Mr Shaida is fully trained in all aspects of Ear, Nose, and Throat Surgery, with a special interest in ear surgery and auditory implants, including cochlear implants. He is a primary provider of paediatric ENT surgery at the Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital (RNTNEH), covering all aspects of paediatric ENT. Additionally, he has a keen interest in rhinology and sinus disease, particularly the link between the ear and the nose, and provides a comprehensive general ENT service.
